By | July 14, 2020

Opening your favourite application using keyboard shortcuts can save you a lot of time. Saving a second here and a second there starts to build up over time especially considering the amount of time we spend in front of our devices nowadays.
On a Mac, you can create keyboard shortcuts to open up your favourite or most used applications in a matter of minutes. Here is how.

Step 1: Automator

Press ⌘ + Space bar to bring up Spotlight Search and type “automator”. Then click Quick Action. In older versions, this may be labeled as Services.

In the Workflow receives dropdown, select no input and then search for Launch Application (under the Actions button) and drag it into the center workspace.

Choose the application you want to launch, and then save this action with ⌘ + S or File > Save.

Step 2: Keyboard Shortcuts

Open up System Preferences and select Keyboard. Then click on Shortcuts > Services and scroll to the bottom to see your saved services. Then assign a shortcut and test! It is that simple.
